Wade King Elementary opened in September of 2008 and became a fully authorized International Baccalaureate World School in July of 2010. It offers a diverse learning experience through exploration of cultures, language, community and global interaction. I recently experienced a presentation at the school, in which the children gathered in the main common area for singing in multiple languages.  The focus being “inquiry”; finding something you are passionate about and finding more information. The children had several questions for the presenter afterwards. It was wonderful to see the children be so inquisitive. As a former Montessori preschool, teacher I enjoyed watching the children’s intrinsic curiosity on display. Experiences of this nature allow the children to feel more engaged in the learning process and empowered from within.
